Peltast is a slow-paced, strategic, web-based wargame with a dark sense of humor. Games involve a dozen or more players from around the world trying to destroy each other using troops, magic, covert operations and diplomacy. Cut off the food supply to your enemy's capital and hold the siege until his defenders are boiling their shoes for dinner; and then hold it about six weeks longer, just to make sure. This game is an evolution from the play-by-mail tradition, incorporating the same slow, thoughtful strategy and lots of planning but with an easy web-based interface. Play at your own convenience - on your lunch hour, after work, in the middle of the night, whenever you have the time. We aim for the game to be easy to learn, but difficult to master.
A unique player handicapping system automatically boosts weaker players, so that novices can play in games with masters, and both will be challenged.
